Zaffar Ajaib grew up in Central ward, attended local schools and continues to live locally with his wife and children. Zaffar is director of an Information Technology company based in Slough.

He is an active member of the local community, supporting local charities and groups such as the Mosaic Mentoring programme for young children from local schools. Zaffar will speak up for residents’ concerns and work hard for further neighbourhood improvements.

He will work closely with residents, local businesses and the Council to find practical and effective solutions to improve
housing, tackle anti-social behaviour and parking problems, deliver cleaner streets and safer public spaces.

Shafiq Chaudhry lives in Goodman Park with his family and has been one of your Central Ward Councillors since 2006. Shafiq has always been involved with the local community having previously been a governor at Baylis Court School, and a President of the Pakistani Welfare Association. Shafiq was Mayor of Slough in 2014-5.

As a Central ward Councillor, Shafiq has helped to upgrade playgrounds, to deliver resurfaced roads and pavements at Goodman Park and St John’s Road, as well as getting street-lighting improvements for the area.

If re-elected, Shafiq is keen to improve street-cleaning and pedestrian facilities around the town centre, and to ensure there are adequate facilities to support all the new housing being built around the High Street and railway station area.

Sabia Hussain has been a Central ward Councillor since 2012. She has lived in Slough all her life and is a married mother of one and lives with her family in The Crescent, just outside of the town centre.

Sabia is active in a number of local and residents’ groups and is keen to improve community facilities for Central ward. She is passionate about improving community safety and public space for Central residents.

Sabia will work hard to secure better lighting, and clean up local alley-ways and
public rights of way, if given the chance to serve the people of Central ward again.
